I should probably check if your folder is some child of the temp folder and warn the user. (It also allows running the launcher without Admin credentials.) The problem is that Windows makes it easy to accidentally want the launcher in the Temp folder. Wherever they put it is where they want it. A new version of the launcher is now available. The architect of the launcher, NoxCaos, has recently made some changes in an attempt to resolve the problem. As such, I don't force any particular location on the user. I have been receiving a lot of reports that there are problems with the game’s official launcher. The reason why the launcher downloads the game into its folder is because some people might want the game to be on a separate (or even removable) drive. This means that it won't be found the next time you run the launcher. This means that, when the launcher and the game are shut down, Windows is free to clean it up. The launcher downloads the game into its directory, so the launcher then also downloads the game into the temp folder. The reason for this is because, when programs are run from within a ZIP file, Windows extracts it into the Temp folder.

The launcher zip must be extracted into a folder before running. It happens when people download the launcher, browse into the zip file with Windows, and attempt to run the launcher (as opposed to extracting the zip, going into the new folder, and running the launcher).
